Alzheimer Exhibition

The Selling Exhibition of small quilts in aid of Alzheimers went well this week. We had many interested visitors who spent time looking at all the quilts. More than 250 were on show and we sold many. The tea, coffee and cakes went down well and we were pleased with the overall result for just one and a half days selling. Many hours had been spent getting ready and many, many hours had been spent making the quilts by all the generous hearted people who had made and donated them.
They have another outing this week-end at the South West Quilters Day to be held at Exeter on Saturday when we hope to sell a few more. After that they are going to make their way further West to Cornwall we hope, to another group who will keep the ball rolling.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH to everyone who gave their time making and donating the little quilts for this very worthy charity. When we have a final total I will post the result here for everyone to see.

This month's regular meeting is on Monday 21st December, starting at 10 a.m. Christmas Party day with two mini workshops and other things to keep us amused.

Monday Meeting

The regular monthly meeting was held on Monday with a Speaker expected. Unfortunately she had muddled her times and was expecting to come in the evening. One of our members, Liz Randall, volunteered to step into the breach and went home to fetch her work. She is a prolific patchworker and also teaches so there were many beautiful things to look at.
This is a photograph of one of the many bags Liz had to show us.

The following photographs are of some of the small quilts that have been made and donated for the Exhibition to be held in Dorchester in November to raise funds for Alzheimers.
